Hey everyone! Kay here! So, I've been seeing a lot of my codes on WoX sites and I am beyond touched that you all love using them and I love seeing your amazing edits too. But, I also see people who either unintentionally or intentionally remove credits. It doesn't necessarily happen to me, but I've seen it to other coders too. And it reminded me to post this as a reminder to you.
I know you feel satisfied when you edit a code and make it almost non-identical to the original. It seemed like you made it. But no. You did not. The original coder still made the format, template, and body and all you did was mix it up. You still cannot claim that it is yours. It's not fair to the coders because we spend hours planning the layout and more hours coding it.
Back to Kay Kodes, here are some things you have to keep in mind when you are using my code:
Do NOT remove credits
This one is obvious. I don't want to explain myself. But if I see anyone remove my credits and I see this repeatedly, I will remove all the code links on my posts and you will be unable to use it. However, thankfully, I haven't seen someone take my code without giving me the proper recognition.
Keep the credits where they are
Seriously, this one is not hard to do. Credits are carefully placed by coders so it will be visible on site. Because sometimes the site conceals the credits. So usually, I would put it somewhere where the credit is visible. DO NOT MOVE IT AROUND. If you accidentally did, you can always discord me. My contact details are already provided please don't make it an excuse.
Do NOT copy off my codepen or pastebin unless you're taking it from the link I give you.
I see a lot of people taking codes from my codepen without my permission and I this loud and clear: ASK PERMISSION BEFOREHAND. It's not hard to ask the owner to copy off their codepen. Some of my codes on their are being made- aka not done. So I don't want my unlaunched code in your hands. There are also some codes that have no credits on yet because I have not put them in. So please only copy off my codepen and/or pastebin if I give you the link (like from the posts).
It's okay to ask
We're all amateurs here. Kidding. But, we all make mistakes and sometimes need help. And it is 100% okay to ask for it. It's better than playing around with something you don't understand and risk damaging the code. I'm always here to help. I know my codes inside-out (unless you really butchered it).
I think that is all. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you for understanding and of course helping my codes to get recognition. Once again this is just a reminder. I'm not shading anyone. Love y'all <3
